Youth Leadership and Empowerment through Active Civic Participation

We are looking for associations that work on youth participation or political structures like councils/parliaments that are created by young people.

We are Youth Parliament of Ankara City Council. We have more than 2.000 members aged between 15-30 and come from different backgrounds in Ankara. We aim to increase local democratic participation in the capital of Turkey,

We decided that the aim of the project will be "to develop youth participation model by empowering youth for participation through civic engagement in their local, national and transnational context." This will be a KEY ACTION 2: Partnership Cooperation project and we are going to propose to develop the youth participation model with the experience of Ankara Youth Council. We also identified the sub-components of this youth participation model of the project (could change of course) as you can see below:

- Youth participation

- Collaboration and Lobbying

- Tolerance and Democracy Culture (Political Participation)

- Digital Literacy for Collaboration and Lobbying or Networking

- Intercultural communication and competencies

As we discussed over zoom, we can benefit from your expertise in political participation. We also decided on the steps to develop the model which you can see below:

to design the needs assessment (lit. review and development of the data collection tools)
to develop a method of empowering youth
to develop materials describing best practices (reflective journals aracılığıyla)
