International literary festival for Young writers and journalists withthe aim to help them improving their career and literary skills through artistic workshops
International Youth Literary Festival “Tirana 2015”
Theme: Each year the festival will have a unique theme for all the participants.
Venue: Tirana, and cities where the partners are allocated.
Timeline: 10 May 2016- 10 May 2017
Phase I (3 months)
Creation of the Call for submission (including the theme of the festival), where young adults from 23 to 28 years old of different nationalities will present their works unpublished before in original language and translated in English at one of the categories below:
• Short story- 5000 characters without space
• Poetry- not more than 20 verses
• Critical essay- 5000 characters without space
The work will be presented filling these criteria:
1. It has to be unpublished before the submission phase
2. Each author has to present one work at one of the categories and its translation
3. The work has to be well translated in English and edited and proofreaded in both languages.
4. The work must respect the length of each category set in the call for submission.
5. The work must be respectful to every community and must not contain in any way offensive or discriminating character.
6. The work should contain titles and subtitles.
7. The participants must have 23-28 years old (proof an ID that accompanies the submission).
8. For each participant in the festival website will be possible to find the self-declaration form when he authorize the festival and the publishing house to use his/her work for dissemination and promotion porpoises and for the publication of the works through all the channels of the festival.
What do we need:

- Spread the notice of this call for submission in some different ways and means (TV, radio, news paper, social and cultural media)
Phase II (7months)
1. The promotion of the contest through all the media and internet social and cultural sites to be known for a wide range of public.
2. All the works will be sent at the e-mail address of the Institute of Book and Promotion cultural.headoffice@institutilibripromocioni.al
3. All participants have to send the works in original language and English translation, the ID and the authorization form also a brief introduction of themselves.
4. The first 100 applications containing the above materials will be presented at the festival website along with the identification code, previously sent to the participants at their e-mail.
5. Participants and other web site visitors can vote at the festival website the top 50 creations. From here we will have the first winners of the festival (3 participants in each of the categories).
6. A preselected international jury composed by 3 well known writers will chose from the 100 works the 27-36 winners of the contest. (9-12 works for each category).
What do we need:
- In base of the partnership agreement 2 jury members for each category, from each country which will select the winners of the contest by reading the works in original language.
- A person whom will communicate with the participants and will adress the works at the jury members. (Volunteer).
Phase III (5 days)
1. The selected authors from two ways of selection ( from the festival website and from the international jury) participate at a 5 day workshops in a venue to be decided in consequence.
1.1 The workshops structure:
The workshops are related with the transcription of an art in other arts. Three qualified trainers will guide each group to work on the works they have submitted and create the same work on another form.
• The short-story group will work to make a role play through their stories.
• The poetry group will work to create a collage through computer programs.
• The critical essay will work to create a photograph through their works.
In these workshops will take place a meeting of the participants with important literary personalities where they will discuss about literature, critical thinking and other relevant topics.
What do we need:
- Qualified trainers (artists) from the countries participating in the call for proposal/ festival (at least 1 for each category and from each country) able to guide the participants on retelling their stories.
Phase IV (5 days)
The 5 day festival will take place in Tirana and will be free for the audience. All the participants will read their creations and the workshop results will be shown on a big screen. There will be invited to read some of their works different writers and will have their speech different important figures of literature.
In conclusion will be declared three winners for each category. The winners will be selected from the international jury.
A collection of all the works presented in the festival will be published from Toena Publishing House.
What do we need:
- we strongly believe that the organization of the final phase of the festival should be in Tirana. And to bring there all the participants, the jury members, the trainers and the partners and to celebrate in a five day journey the festival.
