Youth exchange in an English-speaking country which combines launguage learning with a youth TV journalism & film-making project
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a partner institution based in an English-speaking country (preferably London, UK) for our Erasmus Plus Project - Educational Mobility. The aim of our project is a youth exchange program. The exchange should take place in August 2016 between two groups of at least 16 people aged 13-30 (adolescents mainly, with only few older group leaders). As we would like to visit, it is the partner who must apply the national Erasmus plus unit for funding for the first exchange. We would be happy if this project would be only the beginning of future long-term cooperation.
HOW DO WE DO THIS?
The partner applies the national Erasmus plus unit for funding. The application deadline is 26th April, 2016. Together we prepare a detailed youth project which includes intercultural workshops, debates, discussions and other activities. As our pupils are interested in journalism, we have our own magazine and youth TV studio, we propose that the main theme of the project is youth journalism. Our pupils are mostly beginners in English (regular lessons started in our centers autumn 2015), additional language support (e.g. intense language course) may be necessary to enable communication with their peers.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Our partner may be a non-governmental organization, social enterprise, local or national authorities, or a commercial organization focused on corporate social responsibility.
WHAT ARE WE DOING IT FOR?
We believe that international partnership projects contribute to our pupils’ daily experiences, i.e., their personal and social development, acquisition of a foreign language (in the case of our students, English), and gaining other useful skills, as well as building an attitude of openness to the Other and increasing their intercultural awareness.
