Wood as a basis of life - joint commitment for the environment and the future in Europe

We explore the environment, the forest and the timber industry and become aware of its requirements for environmental protection as a common European task.

In small mixed groups young people explore the environment, forests, the timber industry and agricuture in the partner regions through excursions, hikes, their own work with wood and various outdoor activities. They acquire knowledge about the forest as the basis of life as well as wood and the forms of its processing as a regional and European economic factor. In joint activities and under guidance, they develop a picture of the partner region, its agriculture and forestry and their importance for the social environment, work and climate. Possible actions and perspectives for environmentally friendly behaviour in their own everyday life and work as practical environmental protection are presented and tested. They are sensitised to the possibilities and requirements of environmental protection as a common European task. The focus is on the development of international and intercultural personal relationships through joint discoveries, joint experience and work as a European perspective.
Besides the start-up and evaluation meetings three one-week international work camps with participants from all partners are planned in the participating countries.
