A training course for social workers in the use of ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ techniques to promote social inclusion and active participation of young people
What are we proposing?
-------------------
A week long Erasmus+ training course under Key Action 1, on different techniques, games and methods of “Theatre of the Oppressed (TO)” with a special focus on social inclusion and active participation. We are proposing this creative, stimulating, transforming instrument focusing particularly on its application in integrated groups composed of people with and without disabilities. See following pages for more information on TO.
When and where will it take place?
-------------------
The project will take place in Italy (probably in Lazio or Umbria region) from 19th and 26th of October, 2014 (6 working days + 2 travel dates). The accommodation and food are provided by the hosting organization. A part of travel costs are covered from Erasmus+ Programme funds (contact us for further info).
Who are we looking for?
------------------
We are looking for organizations and informal groups who are interested in learning TO methods for social inclusion. Both experienced organizations and newcomers are welcome to apply as we would like to make use of this diversity as an educational stimulator.
Each participant organization commits itself on sending 2-3 youth workers to the training, who will later on use those methods in their own reality and multiply the results of the project to promote social inclusion and active participation.
How will it work?
--------------------
The participants will be actively involved in all phases of the project from preparation to follow-up. During the project implementation phase participants will be asked to participate in non-formal learning sessions for about 8 hours per day. All methods used will be of non-formal character.
What do you need to do to become a partner?
-------------------
Please read the attached info sheet thoroughly and if you have any questions contact us by email (mida@uildmlazio.org) immediately. If you wish to be a partner and agree on sending 2-3 participants for the project, send us an email with a short answer to following 4 questions and your organization’s PIC number latest by April 11th, 2014.
Questions for partners:
What is your organization’s experience in youth work and in social inclusion?
How will you participate to all project phases (preparation, implementation and follow-up) actively?
