In the project students will learn the cultural heritage of their regions/countries and find the common values that all the European countries share.
The project aims at students (aged 16 - 19) learning more about the cultural heritage of their regions (mutually), focusing particularly on the biographies of people important for the regions in areas such as history, arts, culture, sport and politics (search for proofs that coming from a disadvantaged area is not an obstacle to a successful life on example of lives of important people coming from students' regions). While working on the project students will develop their language as well as social skills. They will also learn tolerance towards different cultures and religions and look for proofs that despite the differences we all share the same European and human values. The project will allow students to develop their openness to people and will hopefully make them better understand the world around them, which in future may result in their mobility while studying, job searching etc.
Objectives:
- to develop students' language skills;
- to improve students' knowledge of the partners' countries;
- to encourage students to promote the cultural heritage of their own country which in turn will support harmonious coexistence of European society;
- to create and enhance the attitude of respect towards cultural, religious and ethnic differences;
- to break stereotypes and prejudices;
- to improve students' abilities to use information technology and computers, and media in general; - to develop social and interpersonal skills;
- to develop students' abilities to work in a team;
- to develop students' creativity.
