Training Youth Workers about Celiac Disease

This TC aims to educate youth workers dealing with disadvantaged young people especially with the celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.

Compliant with the Standard of Living in Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights "Everyone who is a Party to this Covenant ensures a full and adequate standard of living for the family. This standard ensures adequate nutrition, clothing, shelter, and a permanent basis of habitability. does not include renewals.
Adequate nutrition is an important criterion for living standards here. Celiac disease can be briefly defined as an allergy in the small intestines of the gluten protein found in wheat, barley, rye and oats. The only cure for celiac disease is a lifelong gluten-free diet.

Especially in developing countries such as Turkey, gluten-free nutrition is very difficult in terms of access and diversity. In Turkey, the price of normal products is 10 times more expensive for those who have very few gluten-free products. It is not possible for our young people with celiac disease to be fed outside the home. They cannot be found in social areas with their friends. Because there is no gluten-free product, every time he tells his friends about celiac disease and gluten-free diet and they cannot eat anything while they are fed gluten, it makes them depressed.

The aim of our project is to train youth workers on what can be done to reduce the negative effects of celiac patients.
