TRAINING COURSE “HOW TO USE DIFFERENT THEATRE METHODS IN YOUTH EXCHANGE”

Theatre plays a great role in the international projects, becoming a platform for mutual understanding of youth.We would like to share our practical knowledge.

Theatre plays a great role in the international projects, becoming a platform for mutual understanding of youth from different countries, leading towards a respectful approach to the cultural diversity. The project will be based on good practices adopted by our organisation during over 15 of experience. We would like to share our practical knowledge with the participants which they can apply to their future youth exchanges.

Aims of Event
Acquire knowledge of various of theatre techniques useful on the basis of international exchange, youth exchange in particular. WCCC in the projects uses a variety of theatre techniques such as street theatre, puppet theatre, object animation, dramatic theatre, mime and techniques of stage movement. The participants will have a chance to get to know most interesting ones through workshops.


Objectives
 To provide space for participants to explore and strengthen their confidence and understanding of themselves as the basis for learning and interaction.
 To provide an opportunity to develop new skills and competences, as well as reinforcing existing ones
 To inspire fascination and willingness to explore new theatre working methods especially in intercultural projects.
 To prepare the field for future collaborations including projects with a local impact, or within the frame of the Programme. Youth in Action
 To encourage local community to cooperate by informing local youth leaders about the results of the training

Participants Profile:
20 participants from all around Europe, program countries only, TWO PEOPLE FROM ONE ORGANISATION

The project is aimed at experienced youth drama workers as well as beginners, we plan to work in two groups: advanced and beginners.

Participants should:
• Have an interest and willingness to develop Youth Programme activities
• Be able to attend the full duration of the training course
• Have a valid medical travel insurance on the duration of the project

Practical and financial conditions of participation

Wrocław, the capital of Lower Silesia, is one of the oldest and most beautiful Polish cities „Wrocław – a meeting place” is a slogan that has perfectly adjusted to the culture of the city. It is located at the junction of three countries – Poland, Czech Republic and Germany which were closely connected by history. The city Over 1000 years of multicultural history create a unique atmosphere. Ostrów Tumski is the place where the medieval settlement was founded, with the bishopric and the first Cathedral established in year of 1000. City Wrocław was founded under the German law, probably in 1241 and soon became an established centre of international trade. In 14th century the City started to belong to Czech Republic and in 1526, resulted in Wrocław’s submission to the Habsburg crown. After the Silesian Wars in 1740-1763 Silesia and its capital were taken over by the Prussians. The most of the secural architecture was build in 19th century .Last months of the Second World were the city became a part of so-called “Oder-line” of German defense system (“Festung Breslau”) were certainly the most tragic in the whole history of Wrocław. The time brought almost complete ruin of the town. After the II WW the city came under the Polish administration, and completely change its inhabitants.
Now Wrocław is the most rapidly developing city in Poland, also thanks to about 130 thousand students attending universities and colleges in Wrocław. Many cultural, sport, scientific investments attract to Wrocław more and more students from other towns, cities and countries and tourists from the whole world. Therefore inhabitants are open, kind and always helpful. During summer evenings thousands of young and older people spend their time in the market square, on the Slodowa Island relishing a unique climate of the city.

Board and lodging:
Board and lodging are provided and paid by the host organisation. Participation – free

Travel expenses:
Travel expenses have to be met firstly by the individual or by sending organisation and then 100% of the costs will be reimbursed (TICKETS with clear price and an INVOICE with name and surname of participant ARE DEMANDED for reimbursement!) following attendance at the training course. You have to find the most economic transport fares – APEX, student fare etc.
