TINY HANDS TOUCH THE SOIL
Our institution is located in Ünye district of Ordu province in the Black Sea region. As Ünye Counselling and Research Centre, psychological counsellors and special education teachers work within our institution. As an institution, in Ünye district, which has a population of 130.464 according to 2020 data, it provides direct services to 4.386 disadvantaged people, and services such as psychological assistance, teacher-parent counselling and vocational preference counselling are provided to 107 schools throughout the district.
One of the general goals of our project is to increase the service quality of the greenhouse nature class which was established to teach children age-appropriate behaviour about agricultural activities in these periods when drought threatens our future; in an increasingly digitalized world, to support the farming profession which is about to disappear among occupational choices in recent years, to gain children the ecological literacy and to revive the plant species that have disappeared with the increase of the climate crisis.
Plantation works are taught by experts in the greenhouse nature class, which was established to enable students with special needs and normally developing students who study at schools affiliated to Ünye District National Education Directorate to perform agricultural activities by doing themselves. In order to bring the vision of the expert staff carrying out this project to the level of European standards, we are looking for partners who will support us with their experience and training in the project.
