The Partner-Finding Tool
We aim to work for the inclusion of youth with migratory background and reflect together on the ongoing humanitarian issues
Humankind is now facing a global crisis. Maybe the biggest humanitarian crisis after the World War II, surely the strongest one in the last decade.
Now we do not know the exact evolution of the crisis and how long the reorganization and normalization will be. According to scientists, what we can assume as certain is that is not a temporary phenomenon, but something that will last long time and we have to get used to.
Many short-term emergency measures could become a fixture of life. Because of the lockdown, we are almost obliged to reflect on the quality of our lives and to question the fixed social, cultural and economic order. In this phase, we should remind ourselves that the crisis is not only sanitary based but also - and above all - a systemic crisis, which will mainly affect the vulnerable sectors of society, those who already face unsafe condition of life. Among those, we have to consider the youth and the migrants.
The risk is that the already wide-spreading populism among European countries would strongly exacerbate the existing social and cultural differences. That is why it is important to assess how the role of social and youth workers can be shaped in order to tackle this delicate moment of our history, re-thinking and reorganizing the working models in order to reinforce solidarity and, at the same time, contrast the nationalists’ theories.
In the era of social distancing and smart working, than, how the role of youth worker does change, mainly in the social and cultural inclusion of youth with migratory background? Which actions can be undertaken to not completely loose the relationships with the Others? Which good practices have been implemented at local and European level and what can be done else more? That are the questions to investigate in this project.
The specific objectives of the project are:
• Analyse the social effects of COVID-19 in the different European regions, considering both those caused by the sanitary emergency and the consequent lockdown;
• Promote and share the good practices already acted by the participating organizations at local level;
• Reinforce cooperation and networking in the sector of Youth, defining common and innovative practices to face the new challenges in the social animation;
• Increase competences of youth workers in the field of the inclusion of youth with migratory background;
• Define new tools and common projects to be developed in the future
Each partner organization will involve at least two participants .
As one of the objectives of the seminar is to define new projects to develop in the future, it is strongly recommended to select at least one participant who can take decision on behalf of the organization.
All the participants should have a proficiency in English as common working language.
