Dual TCs on critical approaches to combat hate speech and labeling against minorities. Euromed Youth Cooperation in promoting for Anti-discrimination actions.
Call for the mobilization of all those youth workers at regional and local level throughout Europe, South-Med on the use of the critical approaches to combat hate speech and labeling against minorities.
Our Gold aims to grow higher the development of the knowledge and transfer good practices of the participants among partner countries in two steps training.
1. The TC in Palestine is an advance focus to training youth workers on using the critical approaches to combat discrimination and prejudice.
This phase aims to enhance the anti-discrimination culture among young people and youth workers and to equip them with adaptable tools based on human rights education, critical analysis, and social change to face discrimination, prejudice, hate speech, and racism.
This phase has a multinational action plan and a follow up through bringing together partners from neighbouring regions (EU and South-Med) that have common challenges in combating discrimination online and offline based on race, religion, sex, national origin, colour, and other bases.
Specific Objectives:
a. Increase knowledge of social change theory, critical analysis and freedom of expression
b. Improve related skills in using creative approaches to combating discrimination and hate speech
c. Enhance the power of people and solidarity for social inclusion and tolerance
d. Build multinational action plan to eliminate discrimination and hate speech in our communities
e. Raise awareness about No Hate Speech Movement in the EU neighbouring regions
2. The TC in Jordan has a focus on media and journalism as they play crucial role in combating hate speech.
This phase aims to opening a dialogue and exploring diversity in the perception about the effect of media between European and Arab youth, a space for sharing their concerns and identify common ground for future development plans related to Modern Media strategies to deal with the transitional revolution specially with the rapid development of social media tools.
This phase has a multinational action plan and a follow up for a new network of youth workers dealing with media and young journalists from the countries involved to open new channels of communications to evaluate media from different perspectives and share their experiences towards future.
Specific Objectives:
a. Reflect on the issues connected with minorities
b. Create common communication tools by youth for youth
c. Create common strategies for developing new criteria on media communication
d. Raise awareness about online hate speech and its different forms in media world
e. Build multinational action plan to eliminate discrimination and hate speech in propaganda and media communities
We are looking for n.2 participants coming from Italy, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Malta, Lithuania,Turkey ( No other counties can be accepted )
PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:
- Interested in learning educational approaches in social change
- Involved in campaigning and advocacy actions in their communities
- Background in youth and/or community work, in journalism and/or youth media centers
- Participants should be willing to stay in touch and cooperate with the national campaign committees for the No Hate Speech Movement afterwards.
- Participants should be willing to plan and implement a small educational follow-up activity or multiplier event after the seminar
THE PARTICIPANTS MUST:
- Be able to work in English
- Be willing to contribute with their own experience to the training course
- Be able to attend the whole duration of each training course
- Motivated to do follow-up activities after the training

COSTS
Being selected for these course, all costs (accommodation, meals, visa and training ) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the Erasmus+ program.
Travels costs are reimbursed by the organizers according to the lump-sum EU contribution mentioned in Erasmus + program.
