Mind My Art

To improve employability, motivatotion, skills and future learning paths for learners who are from difficult backgrounds through arts and creativity.

The project involves using arts and creative writing to describe the journey and an understanding of mental ill health to reach mental well being.
Participants will gain Writing skills
Will have written and illustrated their own book
Gained hobby skills or skills that enable them to obtain paid work, volunteer or become self employed to generate income
Gained a deeper understanding of mental illness or issues, coping mechanisms and road to recovery
Produced a book of publishable standard that the whole community can enjoy and Art/craft/writing/music work will be exhibited in the community
Participants will have created their own support networks and we hope they will create a reading/writing group that they could attend weekly in their own country that would be open to everyone in order to encourage intergenerational activities and networking
Participants will have raised aspirations, motivation levels and transferrable skills to allow them to become meaningfully active in their community
Participants may wish to volunteer for any of our partner organisations or consider work placements, or higher education opportunities through local colleges
Participants will learn entrpreneuship skills and will learn to use their practical skills to start their own business or become self employed
Participants will be able to disseminate their knowledge and work with other young people from difficult backgrounds to create community businesses, charities and social enterprises that use creative skills to produce items for sale.
