Mentoring for Inclusion

Training course for social workers to acquire Mentoring competences to support inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in nonformal learning projects

What are we proposing?

A week long Erasmus+ training course under Key Action 1, on different techniques, approaches and tools for mentoring to support social inclusion and active participation of young people with fewer opportunities (esp. with disabilities) in non-formal learning projects. We are proposing this empowering resource, focusing particularly on its application in EVS inclusion projects.

When and where will it take place?
The project will take place in Italy (probably in Lazio or Umbria region) from 6th and 13th of September, 2015 (6 working days + 2 travel dates). The accommodation and food are provided by the hosting organization. A part of travel costs are reimbursed from Erasmus+ Programme funds after the project (contact us for further info).

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for organizations who are working (or willing to work) as sending and hosting organizations for EVS and who are interested in organizing EVS inclusion projects for young people with fewer opportunities/special needs. Both experienced organizations and newcomers are welcome to apply as we would like to make use of this diversity as an educational stimulator.
Each participant organization commits itself on sending 2-3 youth workers to the training, who will later on use those methods in their own reality and multiply the results of the project to promote social inclusion and active participation.

How will it work?
The participants will be actively involved in all phases of the project from preparation to follow-up. During the project implementation phase, participants will be asked to participate in non-formal learning sessions for about 8 hours per day. All methods used will be of non-formal character.

What do you need to do to become a partner?
After reading the attached info sheet if you have any questions contact us by email (mida@uildmlazio.org) immediately. If you wish to be a partner and agree on sending 2-3 participants for the project, send us an email with all the attached documents (signed&scanned mandate and filled in partner form) latest by January 23rd, 2015.
