DESCRIPTION
“Hands in Action, Growing Minds” takes place in the enchanting setting of Santa Croce's Monastery in Campese, near Bassano del Grappa, surrounded by mountains, immersed in nature. Project lasts 14 days (+ 2 for travel) and welcomes 12 adults from across Europe. it's an immersive experience of group volunteering, and personal development, designed for young people who collaborate, and actively support local community. Participants will live together, self-management/self-catering, and preserve the monastery surrounding. Each day will include time for personal reflection, nature-based activities, yoga, meditation, hiking, and connections with local associations. The workcamp combines manual work, environmental sustainability, non-formal education, personal growth while offering a cultural animation and social theatre techniques. Opportunity to design and lead creative workshops for local preteens, stepping into the role of cultural facilitators and community builders.
FOOD, ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
Participants will be hosted in shared rooms within the beautiful and peaceful Monastery of Santa Croce, surrounded by nature. Common areas will be managed collectively by the volunteers, with the support of a cook who will help coordinate meals. Participants will take turns preparing meals and taking care of the communal spaces, promoting a lifestyle based on cooperation, simplicity, and shared responsibility. Accommodation and meals are fully covered by the project. Travel costs will be reimbursed 100% up to the limits set by the ESC programme, after arrival.
ACTIVITIES AND TRAINING
Participants are supported by experienced facilitator and the Monastery’s team, who will guide both educational and practical aspects. Daily program includes yoga, meditation, experiential workshops, manual activities aimed at preserving the Monastery. The facilitator coordinates the project and leads group sessions using non-formal education methods, participatory tools, reflection, group sharing, and personal grow throughout the experience. Participants will have the chance to actively engage and learn new skills at community level, teamwork, cultural animation, and personal development.
