The Partner-Finding Tool
COCO helps youth make better financial and life decisions by teaching behavioral economics tools & insights to reduce firm exploitation and increase well-being.
"Cognitive Control" (COCO) is an innovative Erasmus+ project aimed at empowering European youth to make more informed and rational financial decisions. Over 24 months, COCO will provide young people with tools from behavioral economics to help them understand and counteract the cognitive and perceptual biases that often lead to suboptimal decisions. These biases can result in financial and social exploitation by firms, particularly affecting the youth due to their financial instability and high unemployment rates. By educating youth on concepts like bounded rationality and prospect theory, the project aims to enhance their decision-making skills, thereby improving their overall life satisfaction and well-being.
The project will create a comprehensive toolkit and host seminars and webinars to disseminate knowledge and practical tips on avoiding common decision-making traps. The toolkit will be accessible online, featuring user-friendly content and web accessibility features for people with disabilities. Additionally, COCO will incorporate a digital gamification feature on its platform, allowing users to simulate financial decisions and receive feedback on their rationality. This interactive approach will help participants recognize and overcome biases, fostering better financial habits. COCO's unique application of behavioral economics to everyday decisions promises to provide substantial value, enhancing the financial literacy and resilience of Europe's youth, and ultimately contributing to a more informed and economically stable society.
