Looking for Coordinator - KA220 School Education: Conflict managemEnt, emotioNal inTelligEnce and Bullying prevention (CENTEB)

CENTEB aims to reduce bullying in schools through seminars and an interactive platform, focusing on emotional intelligence and social-emotional learning.

With negative impacts on academic performance and psychological health, bullying among all students continues to be a concern for children, parents, and teachers alike. With legislation demanding that schools address the issue, school authorities must adjudicate the most suitable system that matches the unique requirements of its students and teachers while maximizing its capacity to prevent bullying.

The CENTEB project aspires to prevent conflicts in school environments and intervene in the overall efforts to reduce bullying through seminars and an interactive platform with a live forum where teachers could exchange opinions and practices for successful incident prevention. These efforts are often predicated on speculations that bullying stems from a combined reciprocity between students’ individuality traits, parental factors, peer and societal influences, along with the use of social media and various digital games. According to the socio-ecological model of bullying, there are different contextual influences on bullying involvement, which are connected to the concepts of emotional intelligence (EI) and social-emotional learning (SEL). Emotional Intelligence refers to the ability to accurately perceive and label emotions in oneself and others, understand the nature, triggers, and consequences of emotions, use emotions to facilitate thinking and problem-solving and manage one’s emotions in constructive and goal-directed ways.

Through CENTEB, students will have the chance to develop their social-emotional abilities that are linked to a decline in bullying and other types of aggressiveness. Furthermore, through the creation of a live forum for teachers and parents, all participants will increase their own ability to control and manage conflicts. Also they will share their experiences, and methodologies. Last but not least, hybrid seminars for teachers and students will be conducted on how to develop emotional intelligence in order to prevent bullying incidents.
