KA 152 / The Cycle of Change - Sustanibility and Digitalisation

The main aim of the project is to develop and strengthen a nature-friendly way of thinking and develop participants digital competence.

The idea for the project developed in 2022 when young people and youth workers from Ludza noticed that Erasmus+ activities for young people were not available in the region. For two years - 2023 and 2024 the association and youth organization KIRA cooperated with the youth of Municipality Ludza and implemented 2 projects about environment sustainability topics, because youth felt it is the topic they want to talk about and raise awareness. The first project “The Cycle of Change” youth learned about the importance of waste recycling and got to know practical methods to use in their everyday lives. In the second project “The Cycle of Change 2.0” young people explored practical methods on how to recycle waste to make art - also developed their digital competence by creating short videos to raise environmental awareness.
Digitalization is an important topic to KIRA and the youth of Ludza because it significantly enhances both the outreach and effectiveness of their initiatives. This allows the organization to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and engage more young people, especially those from rural areas who may otherwise be isolated from such opportunities.
