GenWin

A youth exchange exploring cooperative systems for a sustainable future, empowering diverse young people to drive social equity and environmental responsibility

This project is a dynamic Erasmus+ youth exchange designed to address the growing disconnection young people feel with societal values rooted in capitalist and neoliberal paradigms. It seeks to empower participants by exploring alternative socioeconomic systems that prioritize cooperation, equity, and environmental sustainability. The project will bring together diverse youth from across Europe to study successful cooperative models in Denmark, Turkey, Finland, and other countries, offering viable alternatives to traditional market-driven approaches.

Participants will engage in hands-on learning experiences, including a visit to Ananda Gaorii, an intentional community in Denmark dedicated to sustainable living. Here, they will witness firsthand how cooperation, permaculture, and renewable energy practices are integrated into daily life, providing them with tangible models to adapt and implement in their own communities.

The project's objectives align closely with the Erasmus+ programme's goals of promoting active citizenship, fostering social inclusion, and enhancing youth participation in sustainable development. By increasing awareness of cooperative paradigms and cultivating critical thinking skills, this project will empower young people to challenge dominant socioeconomic systems and advocate for more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable futures.

In addition, the project is deeply committed to the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy, ensuring that marginalized and disadvantaged youth are actively involved and supported throughout the program. By fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity, the project aims to build a sense of belonging and equal participation among all participants, thereby contributing to a more just and cohesive society.

The target group for this Erasmus+ youth exchange project consists of young people aged 18 to 30 from diverse backgrounds across Europe, including both urban and rural areas. The participants are selected based on their interest in social equity, environmental sustainability, and cooperative economic models. The group includes youth who are socially or economically disadvantaged, such as those from marginalized communities, low-income families, or with fewer opportunities for education and employment. The project is particularly focused on engaging young people who feel disconnected from mainstream societal values and are seeking meaningful ways to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable society. Participants are likely to be youth who are motivated to challenge the status quo and who are eager to learn about and implement alternative systems that prioritize cooperation over competition. They may have a strong interest in social justice, environmental stewardship, and active citizenship, and are open to exploring new ideas and practices. The target group also includes youth workers and leaders who play a crucial role in guiding and supporting young people in their communities. These individuals are interested in gaining new insights and tools to help foster cooperative, inclusive, and sustainable practices in their work with youth. Overall, the project seeks to create a diverse and inclusive group of participants who are passionate about making a positive impact on their communities and the world.
