From Data to Knowledge: Digital Social Sciences

This project aims to accelerate digital transformation in the social sciences.

Project summary: This project aims to accelerate digital transformation in the social sciences and help highereducation institutions adapt to this transformation. Through the training programme, it aims to provide participantswith the necessary knowledge and skills to lead digital transformation projects in their institutions.
Project duration: 12 monthsProject budget: up to 60,000 euros
Aims and objectives of the project: The aim of the project is to contribute to the achievement of the institutions'digitalisation goals by improving the knowledge and skills of higher education staff in the digital transformationprocess of social sciences. The objectives of the project are as follows:- To increase the skills of participants in the use of digital tools related to their work (e.g. SPSS, social mediaanalysis tools, JIRA),- To increase the participants' participation in digital transformation projects in their own organisations,- Contribute to the preparation of digitisation action plans for social science higher education institutions,- 60% of participants actively participating in at least one digital transformation project in their organisationswithin 6 months after the programme,
Background: Digitalisation is causing significant changes in social relations, politicalparticipation, culture and identity. In this context, social scientists need to develop new approaches to understandand interpret these changes. At the same time, the trend towards digitalisation is also changing the understanding ofeducation. Technologies such as online learning platforms, interactive educational materials and virtual reality makethe transformation of the social sciences in line with this trend inevitable. In this context, the project focuses on howhigher education institutions in the social sciences can adapt to these trends.
Target groups of the project: The target group of this project is the staff of 50 higher education institutionsworking in the field of social sciences from the partner countries (25 from Turkey and 25 from partner country). The finalbeneficiaries of the project are the staff of higher education institutions working in the field of social sciences, civilsociety organisations working on digital transformation and independent researchers.
Expected results: The expected outcomes of the project are as follows:- Participants will be able to understand the importance and potential of digitalisation in the social sciences,- Ensure that they can use digital tools more effectively in their research, teaching and administrative processes,- Facilitate the integration of big data, artificial intelligence and other digital technologies into social scienceresearch,- Raise participants' awareness of digital ethics and data protection,- Enable participants to play an active role in the digital transformation process of the higher education institutionto which they belong,- Prepare a digital transformation action plan specific to the social sciences,
