Looking for DANISH PARTNER
The project originated during the European Elections month to address the gap between young people and European political processes and values. Through a questionnaire distributed in Greece, Denmark, and Portugal, with 164 responses collected, findings revealed trends in demographics and attitudes toward engagement. Women comprised 54.4% of participants, and age groups varied, with Greek respondents aged 16–25, Portuguese respondents mostly 31–40, and Danish respondents primarily 16–25. Urban living was dominant (~78.7%), and the largest occupational groups were students in Greece (67.3%), workers in Portugal (66.7%), and students in Denmark (54.3%). Key challenges include a lack of awareness about the European Parliament's processes and relevance, low youth participation (with 69.3% feeling underrepresented and just 17.3% of Greek respondents having voted in European elections), and limited access to opportunities for younger groups (16–18). The project aims to increase awareness through workshops and campaigns, boost participation by addressing barriers, promote Erasmus+ programs to foster mobility and collaboration, support cross-border cooperation between youth from the three countries, and empower young people to believe in the significance of their vote (91.55% already acknowledge its importance). Focus areas include climate change, migration, and youth policies, with an overarching goal to bridge the gap in youth engagement through education, collaboration, and empowerment.
