The project aims to create tolerance by exchanging opinions, culture, and exploring the true meaning of equality in religion, culture, ethnicity, gender, etc.
Global Human Right Defence is applying on May 1st for a Youth in Action Youth Exchange, sub-action 1.1 or 3.1, and we are looking for partner organizations.
Location: The Hague, The Netherlands
Indicative period: the end of August 2012
Discrimination, social exclusion, marginalization, bullying… al these phenomena are forms of inequality and arise from ignorance, lack of understanding and prejudice. We therefore wish to encourage an intercultural dialogue on equality in Europe. Equality: a European quality! is a 7 days youth exchange between 5 countries taking place in The Hague, The Netherlands in which young Europeans will explore the meaning of equality together. Through a Youth in Action youth exchange, we would like the young participants to share their opinions, culture, and experience with equality and rights to create tolerance, openness and diminish prejudice and discrimination. Each day, we will discuss a theme such as gender equality, religion, people with fewer abilities etc. and through non-formal educatinal techniques investigate what inequalities people face in these areas and how to achieve true equality. Inspired by the eye-opening activities, the last days of the program are dedicated to developing material to combat a form of equality the participants encountered in their home country.
We are looking for 4 partners who can provide an experienced group leader and 4 active participants of between 16 and 24 years old. We prefer partners with a background in social inclusion, human rights promotion or migration and minority issues who can select participants motivated to multiply the effects of the exchange and promote true equality after returning to their home countries.
We encourage partners and participants to actively contribute to the content of the program.
