Enhancing Youth Workers’ Capacity

Enhancing youth workers’ capacity to guide young people in career planning, skills development, and employment.

Young people today face significant uncertainties regarding employment due to rapidly changing global economic dynamics and the digital transformation of the job market. As highlighted in the European Commission's report under the 2022 European Year of Youth, integrating young people into the labor market remains a priority policy area. According to studies conducted during the 2022 European Year of Youth, 28% of young people stated that tackling unemployment and increasing employment opportunities should be a priority.

This situation indicates that young people not only face a lack of professional skills but also experience a lack of guidance and support in their job search process. Understanding the expectations of the labor market, evaluating the right career opportunities, and accessing the necessary information to compete in the global job market are among the key challenges they encounter.

However, to overcome these challenges, it is essential to invest not only in young people directly but also in youth workers who support them.

At this point, enhancing the capacities of youth workers and enabling them to guide young people in career planning, skills development, and entry into the European job market is a critical strategy.
