“Empowering YOUth through creativity and inovation” is a training course action 4.3

“Empowering YOUth through creativity and inovation” is a training course action 4.3 that is goin to be held in Baile Herculane, Romania, during 7 days.
The main themes of the project are ccreativity, innovation, social cohesion and youth self-development. The project involves 15 young participants, members of 5 organizations from EU member states.

The main objectives are:
• to promote a reflection about the connections between creativity and innovation and social cohesion and youth self-development,
• to develop creativity in youth workers,
• to equip youth workers with the necessary knowledge and competences to stimulate creativity and innovation in youth;
• to aware about the importance of creativity and innovation in everyday life and in personal well-being.

The project involves 5 partner organizations from 4 EU countries; the number of participants will be 15.
The diverse training sessions will be based on very different methods: group dynamics, group reflections, role-play, simulations, etc. Those methods can be included in broader methodological categories: experiential learning, reciprocal maieutic approach, lateral thinking, and discussions (small groups and plenary), outdoor activities, traditional approach, etc.
Some fundamental principles upon which this TC is created and will be developed are:
- Consider participants’ needs/flexibility in adapting the programme
- Contextualize learning with participants experiences/reality
- Democratic participation of all
- Use intercultural differences and similarities
- Learn from the group
- Provide diverse learning situations: analysis and reflection, new knowledge, information, experience, creation, transfer
- Consider diverse learning styles and cultural aspects
- Provide the possibility to learn with the head, heart, hands and health
Non-formal learning will occur throughout the entire programme and will be promoted by the intercultural environment of the TC and by the methods we use. Most part of the methods are non-formal, even if some concepts and theory will be facilitated by other more formal methods, as are exposition. But still in this situation participants will be involved by asking them questions, by considering their reflections, by giving them the space necessary to connect the concepts with their realities and working contexts. Learning should occur in this friendly environment that is context related.
The social and personal development of participants is one important aspect that will happen during all the moments. However the informal time and the social moments are more eager to promote competencies at this level. Indeed, the course keeps a good balance between free time (informal), social moments and official learning moments.
