The project brings together youth workers from different countries to share knowledge and experience on digital security and cyber security.
Our project complies with the main objectives and requirements of the Erasmus Program and Youth Exchanges. In this context, it can be particularly emphasized that our project aims to promote intercultural communication and cooperation among youth workers. The project brings together civil society organizations and youth workers from different countries, enabling them to share knowledge, experience and awareness on digital security and cyber security issues in an intercultural platform. This interaction will help youth workers to understand not only their own culture, but also the perspectives, on-the-ground practices of other countries.
Cybersecurity aims to achieve the traditional goals of interdisciplinary information security, namely ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources by protecting information assets from threats arising from the exploitation of vulnerabilities. But according to Solms & Niekerk (2013), it is also about the security of actors, whose interests include actors such as trust and ethics; critical infrastructure such as water and electricity supply; and the underlying infrastructure that makes cyberspace possible. To ensure security, the assets to be secured, the threats to those assets, and the vulnerabilities through which threat actors can carry them out are crucial. Therefore, improving the perspective and awareness of those active in the youth field, especially civil society organizations, means that organizations need to secure their information, technology infrastructure and intangible assets. Controls or measures are used to mitigate threats. The source of a threat can be natural, e.g. catastrophic or human. Human-induced threats can be caused by non-malicious behavior or malicious behavior. Therefore, the project contributes to raising awareness of youth workers on cyber security issues and categories, increasing their individual awareness and better understanding of their social responsibilities. The project not only provides youth workers with knowledge but also enables them to develop their soft skills and participate more effectively in society.
1. Organizing Training Programs:
Regular trainings by experts in the field to raise cybersecurity awareness during the project period, providing employees with examples of phishing, malware, weak passwords and security vulnerabilities.
Open seminars, which will appeal to a wider audience and have the capacity to be effective in spreading cyber security awareness.
2. Conduct simulations and tests:
Phishing simulations: Tests to measure the level of awareness and raise awareness by sending fake emails to employees can be effective.
Penetration tests: Testing network and system security to uncover potential weaknesses and communicating the process to youth workers to raise awareness.
3. Using Cyber Security Tools:
Antivirus and security software: Use security software on personal computers and corporate systems.
Make regular updates: Continuous updating of systems, applications and security software.
4. Creating a Security Culture:
Cyber security awareness days: Especially with events such as cyber security month, employees and the public can be made aware of this issue.
With these methods, individuals and organizations can be made more resistant to cyber attacks and a conscious security culture can be created.
