Experience non-formal learning through participation and preparation of daily school activities and extra-curricular projects (school trips, summer camp).
"Bildungswerkstatt Knittlingerhof" is a progressive teaching private school with public status and a kindergarten in Upper Austria, near the small town of Ried (12000 inhabitants). It is located in the rural area between Linz and Passau (distance 1 hour by train) This project will take place in the school, where about 80 children from 6 to 16 years develop in self-organised learning. A relaxed and pleasant atmosphere with respectful relationships shall encourage learning in our school.
We are currently looking for an english speaking volunteer (native speaker or very fluent in English) to join us from september 2020 until July 2021 or August 2021.
During a period of 12 months (from september 2020 to august 2021) we offer the opportunity for a volunteer to experience working in our school with creative methods and a focus on intercultural learning. Methodologically, the project's focus is on social and informal learning through independent learning as well as activities offered by teachers.
The activities of this project include the daily curriculum, participation and preparation of activities and school projects and preparation for and participiation in extra-curricular activities such as school trips, summer camp, Christmas market or flea market.
We have experience with volunteer projects and have already attended two volunteers from Spain and one from Turkey in the last years.
We need YOU, if you are interested in pedagogic, teaching, working with children of all ages and developping projects with children, parents and teachers. Experience is not required, but you should have a strong motivation for living and working with children in a non-conventional way.
We offer free accomodation and volunteer payment and of course we take the costs for travelling and for participating in a language class.
