“CANCERDEFENCE.EU” is a complex educational project which touches the most important part of our life: health. We have only one health and we have to be aware how to care about it and know what kind of dangers are threatening it. According to recent research one of most dangerous “civilized” diseases is cancer. Our project is focused on preventive oncology, especially among young people who are not aware that early circumvention might save their life and lives of their fellows. In case of those 3 types of cancer, we can be responsible for getting ill. Our habits and lifestyle, especially shaped when we are young, influenced our health. That is why we want to focus on three cancers: cervical cancer, melanoma and lung cancer. Those three and relatively easy to diagnose, but still young people lack basic knowledge about them. During our project we want to work with youth workers/educators/teachers who want to get more skills concerning preventive oncology and non-formal education. Throughout whole project we will collect good practices concerning pro-healthy activities, develop manual how to work with preventive oncology and organize informative happenings (itinerary tent) with possibility of diagnosis.
AIMS &OBJECTIVES:
The main aim of our project is to share good practices from different countries concerning educational activities of preventive oncology for young people. During 24 months of our partnership we will achieve this aim through:
- Equipping youth leaders/teachers/educators in basic skills and knowledge concerning preventive oncology and non-formal education methods
- Promoting pro-healthy attitudes among young people involved in organisations and insitutions
- Organizing pro-healthy happenings in local communities
- Fighting stereotypes about cancer as incurable disease
TARGET GROUP:
- Youth leaders/workers engaged in youth organization working in health sector
- Teachers/educator from public schools and teaching institutions
- Young people from youth organization and teaching institutions
- Members of local communities of involved organisations and institutions

SCHEDULE:
We expect to have:
- 6 transnational project meetings (at least one in each country)
- 6 learning/teaching/training activities (at least one in each country)
- 6 multiplying event (at least one in each country)
EXPECTED RESULTS:
- Exchange of good practices in frame of preventive oncology
- Youth educators equipped with skills and knowledge concerning preventive oncology
- Brochure summarizing project with good practices and workshop scenarios about preventive oncology
- Raise of awareness concerning oncology and methods how to examine cancer
- Raise of awareness concerning stereotypes about cancer disease
- Professionalization of youth organization working in the field of health education
TIME FRAME: 24 months
IMPORTANT!
Foundation Rosa has already done educational campaign in Poland about cancer defence and we will continue our activities with support of Polish Ministry of Education and patronage of ex first lady Mrs. Jolanta Kwaśniewska. We already have movies, researches, infographics and a lot of tools to use also during Erasmus + project.

What do we expect from our partners?
- NGO focused on education or health
- NGO who has network of schools
- NGO who has a co – partner focused on health or oncology
- NGO which will be able to send 3- 4 people for each training course (participants can change)
- NGO which will be able to prepare multiplying events (for example dermatology examination in our event tent)
- NGO which is prepare to do a lot of dissemination of results.
