Body Liberation Seminar

Body liberation in youth work seminar - let's bring this topic into european youth work agenda!

Call for Partners: Seminar on Body Liberation in Youth Work
Are you passionate about empowering young individuals, fostering body acceptance, and driving positive change in society? If so, we invite you to join us in an engaging and impactful seminar aimed at extracting valuable insights from youth workers. Together, we will address the needs, problems, and solutions related to young people's struggles with body image and self-esteem, and collaboratively lay the foundation for the growth of the Body Liberation Collective.
In the concept of body liberation we see the freedom from judgment, shame, physical, mental and many other limitations exerted on people living in various size bodies by the existing social structures. We aim at bringing liberation to the ones oppressed based on their body size and shape.

About the Seminar: The seminar, set to take place in Lorca at the end of February 2024, will serve as a platform for youth workers, activists, educators, and community leaders to come together and share their expertise, experiences, and perspectives. Co-financed through the Erasmus+ program, this event is a unique opportunity to:
Identify Needs and Challenges: Explore the diverse challenges young individuals face concerning body image, self-confidence, and societal pressures.
Suggest Solutions: Engage in open dialogue to brainstorm innovative and practical solutions that can positively impact young people's mental and emotional well-being.
Seed the Body Liberation Youth Work Agenda: Lay the groundwork for the formation and growth of a collective committed to promoting body acceptance, self-love, and holistic well-being among youth, and bringing this topic into European Youth Work Agenda
Plan Future Projects: Collaboratively outline potential projects, campaigns, and initiatives that the collective and participating organizations could undertake to create lasting change in our communities.
