Architecture for I.M.P.A.C.T.

This youth exchange is focused on developing new core competencies and aims to provide the details necessary to understand the basic concepts of architecture .

Taking into consideration the European Cultural context which puts increasing emphasis on multiculturalism and cultural inclusion through personal development, together with our partners we apply for funding a project that wants to build a new way of thinking about architectural education as a tool for personal development of the young participants in the project but also as a way of developing an NGO in itself. This youth exchange is focused on developing new core competencies and aims to provide the details necessary to understand the basic concepts of architecture from a different perspective.
To better understand architectural education we will accomplish various debates about architectural styles of the partner countries. Supporting young people in this way does not mean that we give birth to a generation of youth oriented to advanced studies in architecture. Instead, we help a generation of young people to be able to distinguish between different architectural buildings, understand the hidden European multiculturalism building facades and put into action the ideas gained during this youth exchange. The project runs for 12 months and the duration of the activities is 10 days, during which participants will acquire new skills discovering and learning the basics of architecture from a different perspective.
The aim of the project ,,Architecture for IMPACT" is personal development of young people through architectural education. The objectives are:
1. Both rational and creative personal development of participants through architectural education;
2 To facilitate learning basic architectural concepts in a non-formal way;
3 Developing skills in knowing the role of architectural styles and components of each partner country;
4 Familiarity with architectural styles and acquire the ability to analyze the similarities and differences of each style;
5.IMPACT –
Involve young people in discussion about architecture
Mobilize youth people to incrase the interest in architecture
Participation of youth at activities
Action
Created a new view about architecture
Transfer information
These objectives will be achieved with a group of 24 young people from 6 countries with ages between 16 to 28.
To achieve these objectives, the project includes non-formal education activities, presentations, debates, lectures, workshops, group games and other creative learning methods, innovative and participative. Interactive activities will be undertaken, design and layouts will be used using the discovery learning methods. Their importance in the field of architecture will be emphasized. All these activities are accessible to young people without the need for substantial research in this area. During this time young people can become increasingly active in their communities by implementing new ideas and architectural projects and understanding cultural differences of their cities of origin and those they travel by. Young people are eager to acquire notions which then can put into practice, sharing with other young people the basics of architecture.
