We help young people discover their talents in a safe environment where they feel safe to try, share and experience what they truly are.

The Ytop grew out from communities who saw the need for more organic ways of living and working together.

The Y-top has been funded by the European Union’s “Youth in Action & Erasmus+ programs” which has been an amazing partner and a ‘power engine’ for many of our movements and gatherings. Since 2012 we have successfully been awarded EU funding for various ongoing projects such as:
“Skills for Living” England/ Wales; 2014,
“Now The Doing” Netherlands; 2015
“Human Rainforest” Ireland; 2016
and many important training gatherings in between, taking place in Denmark and Wales. However we have also received funding and donations from various other sources such as art galleries (WallStyle – Dusseldorf/Germany) and local fund raising projects held by the young friends in many countries in a number of our volunteers native countries.
YTOP is a volunteer driven organisation.

Participants gain skills for life and create a network of resourceful people on an international level. Project management and development of initiatives are supported throughout the year. Participants are offered opportunities to join the Trunk Team (preparation team) in preparing the program by making agreements and creating “Open Mind Passion” online sessions and on sharing life skills. We also offer opportunities to work with our sister/brother organisations such as : Human Aid, Sprouts For the Future and The Light Academy in the Kakuma Refugee camp in Kenya.

Participants are offered tools to be more aware of themselves, other people and the surrounding Nature.

Together we practise democracy by making group decisions .We have updated a well known saying from “A chain is as strong as its weakest link” to “The strength of a chain lies in all of its links”.

The Ytop champions a clean approach, both outwardly (in society) and inwardly(personally). We train young people in recycling according to EU regulations, particularly the reduction of plastic waste, and train other communities that we visit to do so. A favourite Ytop motto is “We always leave a place better than we find it.”

The Ytop prioritises fun, international friendships, a healthy environment and respectful and trusting behaviour. We also include making nourishing food, a fun atmosphere and joyful preparation of food as well as cleaning up as we go. Similarly we focus on nature walks, sports and games.

Creativity and expression are both foundational pillars of Ytop initiatives. Music, dance, craftwork and theatre are encouraged throughout the year, as well as The Open Mind Passion sessions in which people share their skills, passions, interests and hobbies using online calls.

Melodies that Matter is a popular program of music and singing that the Ytop has initiated, which has been held in Wales and Denmark, and which is now programmed for Italy.
