VšĮ "UZTAISAS"

VšĮ Užtaisas (eng.: the Charge) is a non-governmental organization based in Lithuanian sea resort Palanga. It is a young organization founded at the end of 2013. The main goals are to initiate cultural, youth and sports projects and programs, involving local communities, youth, artists and various professionals.
One of two main field is creativity and cultural engagement. We initiate and participate in diverse cultural, artistic projects that are designed mainly for youth and local communities. Together with the municipality and youth initiatives we are trying to activate Palanga’s cultural life, create new events and maintain their continuity. The main projects that we implemented during last 3 years are:
• National alternative youth fashion festival “KILiMAS”
• Night badminton tournaments
• Training course for youth workers “Back on Track”

At the same time we are highly interested in youth policy and development of informal education methods that provides various tools for strengthening youth’s self-esteem, promote social dialogue and personal engagement of young people. We don’t limit ourselves locally and are seeking for international development collaborations.
Currently we are willing to get involved in activities for prevention of main issues that we have in Lithuania:

• High suicide rates of youth
• Youth unemployment
• Youth involvement in decision making process
• Social exclusion

We would be happy to work with organizations that have the same interests or are experienced in certain subjects. In addition, we are open to any kind of offers in other subjects.
