Turkey Youth Federation

Turkey Youth Federation presents different cultures and understandings in national and international areas with a comprehensive approach by leading its member associations, taking role in the fields of children and young people, for organizing effectively and developing their capacity as well as creating unity. Federation has executed studies which serve to support determining youth policies, effective implementation of existing policies and the active participation of youth and also advocacy for this area.

The vision of Turkey Youth Federation is to constitute a comprehensive youth organization, effective in national and international areas and working for social, cultural, civil and political rights of the youth by advocating for the effective participation, the equal justice, the equal opportunity and liberty.

AIM OF THE FEDERATION

The Federation aims to contribute to:
● For youths to discover and become more competent about their potential, ensuring the spread of youth work, the development of standards and improving the quality,

● To contribute to the development of child and youth policies with a rights-based approach in order to directly participate in social, economic and political life, to take part in the formation process of national and international legislation and policies to be developed in this field,

● To support the development and implementation of policies to combat poverty and social inclusion in order to strengthen against social exclusion,

● to defend their rights in all relevant platforms by referring to the international conventions protecting these rights on the basis of universal human rights and freedoms,

● To strengthen awareness in the conflict against discrimination by raising their awareness against all forms of discrimination and hate speech,

● To develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation between public administrations, local administrations, private sector and non-governmental organizations at national, international, regional and local level, to represent and coordinate members against national or international organizations in order to increase participation,

● To support the implementation of gender equality policies, as well as to ensure that they enjoy equal rights and opportunities,

● To ensure the effective participation of policies affecting their lives on the basis of equality and rights and to create opportunities for this,

● In order to gain positive life experiences and right decision making skills; contributing their, individual, social, cultural, artistic, scientific and professional developments ,

● Encourage them to engage in sports in order to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle,

● To help them to adopt the concept of lifelong learning, with this they could be creative and innovative individuals who investigate, question and produce solutions,

● Improving entrepreneurial and social entrepreneurial aspects, facilitating employment processes and developing solutions to reduce youth unemployment,

● To encourage volunteers to participate in social service programs and projects in order to gain awareness of volunteering and taking responsibility in all areas of social life, to support their participation in non-governmental organizations,

● To raise awareness and develop capacities on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and sustainable development.

We have experienced on youth field from 2004 and we implemented many project, seminars, conferances and meeting to improve youth participation and policy. We are forstering Turkey Youth Federation has 9 youth NGOs from different area of the TURKEY.

We are suuporting you organization improving capacity and increasing knowladge of the youth worker on youth field. According to this aim we are implementing each year 3 times traning course in Ankara for youth workers and NGOs’ volunteers. Turkey Youth Federation implemented following subject activities with member youth organization al over the TURKEY.

Discrimination is often a consequence of ignorance or prejudice. We are trying to reduce discrimination among the young people by promoting intercultural competences and by educating them about human rights and civil liberties. Although significant changes have been made through implementation of antidiscrimination campaigns that young people could understand and relate to, and through work with minority groups and for inclusion of Roma, there is still much work to be done.
