Sındırgı Municipality carries out projects that revitalise the local economy by protecting historical and cultural values. Especially the geographically marked Yağcıbedir carpet is one of the most important cultural heritage of the district. These carpets, produced with traditional hand weaving technique, represent the uniqueness of Sındırgı in the field of arts and craftsmanship. By supporting weaving, the Municipality both strengthens the livelihood of local people and passes on this cultural heritage to future generations.
Agriculture is one of the cornerstones of the economy of Sındırgı. Thanks to its fertile soils and natural water resources, livestock breeding, organic agriculture and medicinal aromatic plant production have developed in the district. The municipality increases agricultural production in the region through support programmes for farmers, modern irrigation systems and by promoting sustainable agricultural practices. It also supports co-operative activities to empower local producers, enabling agricultural products to reach wider markets.
Sındırgı Municipality aims to strengthen the local economy and improve the quality of life through projects that promote rural development. With development strategies based on thermal tourism, nature tourism and local production, it ensures that the natural and cultural richness of the district is utilised in the best way. It builds a sustainable future by increasing participation in rural development projects through Local Action Group and collaborations.
With our digital agriculture project in Sındırgı, we increase agricultural productivity and support sustainable production by using smart technologies.
Our project aims to protect the cultural heritage of the traditional Yağcıbedir carpet by establishing a museum.
