Semeliskes parish

Parish area - 6,671 ha, 1,416 of the population lives. The center - Semeliškės town (670 pop.). Eldership of 37 villages, the larger of which: Daugirdiškės (160 pop.) Orphans (120 pop.). Semeliškės town located about 15 km west of Trakai and 49 km from Vilnius to Strėva river. The town's name with the suffix-iškės consisting of personal names. Eldership is a secondary and primary school, library, kindergarten, dispensary, a number of rural tourism.

Our municipality is not the first year of cooperation with Čosnovo neighborhood, located in Poland. Together we have created not only for youth exchange projects, but projects that have included older people, neighborhood farmers.

Semeliškės parish most young people live in rural villages and in smaller type, thus experiencing geographic problems, but there is also the fact that more than half of young people experience and social difficulties. Therefore, most young semeliškiečių not able to spend their leisure time and lack of employment. As young people try to be active, creative and find more and new opportunities, an informal group of young Semeliškės decided to try his hand at organizing an international youth exchange project.
