Riksorganisationen Ungdom Mot Rasism / Youth Against Racism

Ungdom Mot Rasism (Youth Against Racism) is the largest antirascist youth organisation in Sweden with nearly 4000 members and 25 local associations. The organisation was formed in 1996 as a result of the national part of the all-European campaign “All Different All Equal” which took place between 1994 and 1996.

Ungdom Mot Rasism has three main areas of operations; local action, education and politics i.e. lobbying and awareness raising. The heart of the organisation is its local associations which through activism and awareness raising campaigns confront racism on the local arena.

Educating and training around 10 000 students between 13 and 19 years of age, the organisation is one of Swedens largest educators on matters of racism, diversity and antidiscrimination. The educations is using interactive methods and is based on a normcritical perspective.

Ungdom Mot Rasism is non-aligned in terms of party politics and religiously un-attached and works entirely according to a non-violent agenda. During 2011 an antiracist network where set up in Swedish parliament initated by Ungdom Mot Rasism.

The organisation works with projects within certain areas of society, currently a specific project called Football Against Racism is operated which focus on education and awareness raising campaigns within the field of Football.
