"Mersin Governorship is a local public body in charge with the planning and coordination of all kinds of educational, sanitarian, scientific, academic, commercial and legal issues in Mersin Province. The responsibilities of the institution are administrative and personnel services, education – in-service training services, budget – investment services, research – planning – statistics services, inspection – guidance – investigation services and civil defence services. Governorships are representatives of the state and the President and administrative means of administration in the province.
It is closely related with the public order that public services are delivered to all citizens in accordance with changing conditions and needs, without causing disruption. The public administrations have the authority, duty and responsibility to take every precaution regarding the maintenance of every citizen's daily life without disruption and trouble. It is responsible for the management of public administrations in the province with the Governorate units. It is essential to organize provincial directorates, branch directorates and chief offices in the governorships. Units affiliated to the Governorship of Mersin and their chiefdom are as follows:
a) Provincial Registrar's Office a.1) Document Chief, a.2) Operations Chief, b) Provincial Administrative Board Directorate, c) Administration and Audit Directorate, d) Provincial Press and Public Relations Directorate, e) Directorate of Private Items, e.1) Administrative Services and Coordination Chief f) Protocol Branch Office g) Legal Affairs Branch Directorate, g.1) Legal Affairs Chief, g.2) Legal Affairs Chief, h) Provincial Social Studies and Project Directorate, i) Administrative Services Branch Office, j) IT Department.
Mersin Governorate is an umbrella organization that coordinate all of the public institutions in Mersin. There are Provincial Directorates affiliated to the Ministries in each different area, and the Governorships are responsible for the coordination and functioning of the work and operations of the Provincial Directorates. Provincial Directorate of National Education in Education, Provincial Directorate of Health in the field of Health, Provincial Directorate of Security in the field of security and protection, Provincial Directorate of Family, Work and Social Policies in the field of family and social policies, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports in the field of youth and sports, and in various other fields Directorate of Migration Management, Provincial Population and Citizenship Provincial Directorate, Provincial Social Assistance Solidarity Foundation Directorate, Provincial Mufti, Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment Agency, 112 Emergency Call Center Directorate and Provincial Social Studies and The Project Directorate works under the coordination of the Governorate.
Mersin Governorship, which has dozens of different units and is responsible for organizing and supervising the general administration and general course of the province in all aspects, conducts local, national and international project works and processes through the European Union and Foreign Relations Office. The head of the institution is Governor and the department is administrated by a Vice Governor. We have 5 project experts assigned officially to do project studies in our organization. The distribution of task and responsibilities of persons is decided by the management board of the organization. The project experts has different experiences and abilities of project planning, management, budget management, hosting organizations, travel and insurance management, job shadowing and placement considering total quality management procedures which are of high importance for our organization. We all have experience on projects for several years and during these years within different LLP projects we had taken part at hosting and sending thousands of teachers, students and young people, since our organization is the head institute which arranges official documents for mobilities. During implementation of these projects, we had cooperated with hundreds of schools, institutions and youth organizations, NGO’s, chambers and private sector representatives. All the communication activities with the partners and other cooperative institutions are held via e-mail, telephone, social networks and skype.
A team of 3 has been formed for this proposed project. These staff have been working in the field of Erasmus+ projects for years and have been running projects.
