Maribor Cycling Network (Mariborska kolesarska mreža) is an NGO active in the field of cycling, sustainable development, environment, education, social entrepreneurship, public policies, traffic infrastructure and community cohesion.
We are coordinators of 1. Mobility center in Slovenia, were first to implement road 'Sharrow' in this part of Europe, contributed to the title of ' Best Cycling Municipality 2013' and to regularly conduct a community bicycle workshop (Bike Kitchen) in Slovenia. Additionally we have experience with international projects as well with Erasmus+ and Youth in Action program.
One of our current Erasmus+ project of ours is called Upgrade Project. In collaboration with NGOs from 4 different countries (Greece, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Portugal) we are planning an exchange of ideas concerning sustainable mobility, which is going to take place here in Maribor. Young participants and heads of NGOs are going to work on new ideas on environmentally friendly transportation and sustainability. And of course we are also looking
forward to a hopefully long-lasting cooperation with those project partners. For information
concerning the Upgrade Project check out the following link: http://upgrade2015.tumblr.com/
Our aim is to further develop sustainable mobility by cooperative and quality European projects that have numerous effects on local communities around the world. We will respond to every project invitation and offer enthusiastic support, knowledge and people when our goals overlap.
