"Margahovit Youth Center" NGO

Margahovit Youth Center was established in 2013 and has operated as an initiative group for three years. In 2016 it started to operate as a public organization. The goals of the MYC include:
• To promote civil society development and functioning,
• To contribute to the implementation of reforms in the educational system, the development of scientific and educational level,
• To organize environmentally-oriented programs and events,
• and to organize and conduct educational and cultural exchange, sports, entertainment and educational programs and events for the youth.

Counterpart International worked with JMP Foundation , Full Life NGO, US Peace Corps , Armenia Tree Project, Embassy of the Czech Republic with other funds to implement 11 local and international projects. The connecting online platform brought together 17 rural communities in the Gugarq region of Lori Marz. The project included the creation of a youth action clubs program, which set the foundation for strengthening community relations, identifying community problems and resolving various social issues. Further, working with relevant authorities, the project developed a system for rural community information dissemination and access.

The project beneficiaries are the approximately 3,000 residents of the regions. An offline version of the platform is planned-- a magazine-- and will be organized with a media organization.
