The Social Cooperative Lariso was first established in 1990. Ever since, Lariso has been working in the planning and managing of social and educational services, toy libraries and centres for socialisation. In collaboration with several schools and universities, the professional and experienced employees at Lariso work in the Province of Nuoro and Oristano to offer vocational and further training in various fields such as social and medical care. Lariso also works on the planning and managing of social surveys and advisory projects regarding social policy, work quality and security, privacy and introduction into the labour market (cf. some examples below). During the last two decades Lariso worked on several European, national and regional projects in collaboration with a wide range or private and public national and international partners. Some examples of transnational activities are listed below.
From 2005 to 2007, Lariso entered partnership with Austrian and Finnish partners to carry out an Equal project called Dialogos. This project was founded by the European Social Found and it aimed to bring together public and private social enterprises that work in the Third Sector so as to increase the employment opportunities in deprived areas such as the Provinces of Nuoro and Oristano. Lariso also created a European Economic Interest Group (EEIG) that seeks to strengthen the relations among the partners of the Dialogos project. The EEIG continues analysing the socio-economic situation of the areas involved and its members are now bidding for new EU calls. More recently, Lariso has been collaborating with the Province of Nuoro, the Department of Social Services of the Municipality of Nuoro, several cooperatives and the IDE Institute de Graz (Austria) to create and develop new vocational training models to be implemented in the environmental and social sectors. An example of this is the ENTER FOR RENT Project for which Lariso has been cooperating with the partners listed above and with Chance B of Gléisdorf (Austria). This project aims to enhance the IT skills of people with physical disabilities so that they can offer their services to people that have little or limited competence in IT in Sardinia (e.g. the elderly, people with basic education, etc.). The results of the project will be later disseminated among the partners and possibly replicated by other national and international ones.
At local level, Lariso completed a Guide to Social Services in the Province of Nuoro (Sinergie Project) and it has also been (and still is) involved in several projects for the youth such as the Youth Forum (that helps youngsters understand their working and education attitudes) and Knowing Alcohol to Avoid Dependence (that seeks to help youngsters know more about what consequences alcohol can have on them so that they can choose not to become dependant from it).
Information about Lariso's expertise in organising LLP projects
As mentioned earlier, Lariso took part in an Equal project called Dialogos. Within this project, Lariso worked activity on the vocational training of ten managers of ten social enterprises from Sardinia. As part of their training course, these managers attended a ten-day vocational training course at the CUOA in Altavilla Vicentina (http://www.cuoa.it), a vocational training school in Business and Management. During the course, these ten managers visited various social enterprises in the area to acquire new competences in the field. Lariso also worked on a regional project called Altri scenari, which aimed to carry out a survey on social enterprises in Sardinia. It supported and enhanced the creation of networks and consortia of social enterprises. More importantly, it sought to support the social enterprises in this region to create translational collaborations so as to offer employment opportunities of Sardinian citizens abroad. The project provided advisory and training services at various levels: workshops, collaboration via e-mail, collection of inquires and creation of database of FQAs. Lariso worked on a LLP – Leonardo da Vinci Project for the mobility of youngsters called Eco Energy Europe. With its partners (secondary schools from Sardinia, the ASA from Padova and the DOXE DE DIE Association), Lariso worked in order to allow 24 Sardinia students to attended a vocational course that also included a training period offered by businesses and enterprises working on the Renewable Energy Sector in Germany, Spain and France. Finally, Lariso are currently working on the Europeando project which aims to create a network of national and international partners to organise study visits for 120 young entrepreneurs who have been awarded a grant to attend a vocational course in order to learn how to create a new enterprise in various sectors (social, culture, tourism, trade, etc.). The visits should be learning-based, thus involving seminars in SMEs, Professional Associations of Employers, etc. So far, eight national and international partners have already accepted to take part in the project.
