About us:

The association “LA RUECA” is a non-profit organization. It was founded in 1990 by professionals who supported the social and cultural sectors. Since that, the association has been working in several programs and projects to promote the improvement of living conditions and the welfare of the most underprivileged groups of our society.

Our mission statement:

To fight against social exclusion of persons who are in situation of vulnerability while contributing to the improvement of our society.

What we do:

We help persons who are in situation of social vulnerability. Our objective is to facilitate autonomy and independence by encouraging the participation in the community and working with information technology.

Our strategy:

The social help, job, vocational trainings to get on the labour market, actions in the socioeducational sector, development of new technology (e-inclusion), trainings of professionals, actions for the community and social participation, social awareness campaign, development of computing platforms and internet skills trainings.

Policy priorities:

Young people

The association “LA RUECA” has interceded with the youngest population of our society for ever. We have put in practise several actions which the aim was to contribute to the improvement of the social integration of young people in their nearest background.
We do this thanks to socioeducational interventions, job and trainings, help in education and help for learning Spanish, social education and youth participation.

Immigration

The association “LA RUECA” has specialized in helping the persons from foreign origin for the last 15 years. However, integration is process that has to be made from the two parts. The host country has to be actively involved in the integration process. Furthermore the country has to offer a multidimensional framework including a legal integration, work opportunities as well as community, civic and cultural integration.

We make integration easier thanks to services such as language and cultural courses, participation, dynamism and increase awareness of the society. We also offer a complete and individual care to immigrants.

Job and training

The association “LA RUECA”, since its existence, has offered the opportunity to achieve integration programs on the labour market to people in order to help them to take the first step toward the social integration.

The organization has managed to improve the skills of a lot of persons who participated to our projects, take advantage of subventions and eventually get a job. We offer different kind of actions such as social help to get a job, labour advices, vocational trainings, canvassing and constant information about the labour market, trainings of professionals and internet courses.

Our commitment

Quality management: To ensure a continuous improvement, we take on the commitment to act as a firm of the third sector. We are members of the European Formation for Quality Management (EFQM). The aim of all the people working in our organization is to reach the objectives that are set by analyzing and improving those and by constantly assessing our job. Thanks to this, we make sure of the complete satisfaction of our interest groups.

“LA RUECA, sustainable development: the association « LA RUECA » is aware of the current and growing problem of the environment. Thus, with the objective to go toward a more sustainable development, we take on the commitment to prevention, protection and conservation of environment in all of our activities.

Equal opportunities: We are aware of the social inequalities of the society. We take on the commitment to play an active role in the respect and the defence of the Human Rights, the Social rights and the Labour rights through proposals which ease the equal access to opportunities. Those proposals enable the association to fight against gender-based violence and to ensure women’s independence.
