Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth

Kyiv Palace for children and youth is the governmental multipurpose and multidiscipline non-formal organization, which unites 10000 up bringers from 5 till 21 years old. According to the Law of Ukraine "About the informal education" Palace implements non-formal education in such fields as scientific, technical, research, experimental, ecological, art, humanitarian, touristic, historical, physical, sport, patriotic and social. The variety of groups counts 60 ranges of education and 250 disciplines. Each year children receive the Certificate of KPCY about the graduating of NFO. Big amount of exhibitions, contests, concerts, sport competitions, scientific research works in each sphere in Kyiv Palace facilitate children' self-fulfillment and create special conditions for their development. Palace is active participant in international measures in many countries of Europe and Asia. There are two annuals festivals "Palace Galaxy" and "Crystal Apple" for choosing the best pedagogues and up bringers with the aim to support gifted children, assist their realization, social activity, uniting and development.
Kyiv Palace for children and youth is the center of organization free time for young Kyiv citizens, organizer of All-Ukrainian and city festivals, concerts and cultural measures.
Important place in the providing fruitful work occupy multipurpose projects and programs: international communication ("Youth in action", "Children parliamentary movement", "Youth Council in the EAICY"); social and political collaboration ("I am the citizen of my city, country and world"); journalism and social management ("Jun-Press", "One information area", "Press – Vesna on Dnieper River", "Youth care", "Lights of Hope"); cognitive (" Gifted children", "Kyiv - my city", "Dyvosvit", "Eco world", "Successful business plan", "Famous scientists of Ukraine"); cultural ("Art world", "Save traditions of primogenitor", "Historical milestones"); arts (festivals and competitions of theatre collectives "Silver source", chorus collective "Spring Kyiv sings", music festival "Golden autumn", choreographic fest "Kyiv miracle circle", etc)
KPCY is active participant of European Association for Leisure Time Institutions of Children and Youth, which unites 60 NGOs from 16 European countries. KPCY has been the initiator and becomes head of Ukrainian Association of non-formal institutions.
On base of KPCY work Kyiv Council of youth (self governing authority), youth media agency "Yun-Press", methodical and scientific division, labs, editing and publishing division, department of NGOs' development. Also there are frequently held conferences, methodical unions, master-classes, trainings of local, national and international levels. Palace is constantly collaborating with governmental institutions, mass media, universities and formal education organizations, scientific institutions, boarding schools and social organizations.
The main aim of Kyiv Palace for children and youth Палац is to create conditions for development of child' personality and abilities, give opportunity to solve cognitive, communication, practical, communicative, self direction problems in different spheres of life
Kyiv Palace of children and youth received honorable awards for major contribution to the education development and high qualified professionalism from Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2004) and President of Ukraine (2010)
Next Year Kyiv Palace of childe and youth will celebrate 80th anniversary. Many generations of young Kyiv citizens will come to congratulate Palace for vivid and unique world of childhood.
