Jugendzentrum Perg (youth club)

Jugendzentrum Perg (youth centre of Perg) is a youth centre which purpose is to promote the youth in an above party lines and above confessional area. It is mainly supported by the municipality of Perg and the federal state of Upper Austria

Activities:
Open youth work by giving the youth the possibility to create their spare time with eg.:
Cultural events (clubbing, concerts and theatre)
sports and activities in any form young people wish
networking
special programs during holidays seasons
EU projects: youth exchanges, trainings and seminars
Hosting organisation for EVS in YiA

Target group of the Association
Youngsters from 11-25 (main group from 13-17); many of them are coming from a background with fewer opportunities (mainly: socially, geographically and have low educational and economical background

Participation on every activity is on a voluntary basis!

The youth centre has to contribute the rooms and the persons who can support them and help them in any case and with any problems. The youth centre is a meeting point where the youth can get necessary information for them and for their problems and can learn to take responsibilities for them and for the community.
Issues we address are generally focused on the needs and demands coming from the target groups, mainly it is 

• Education/Job

• Spare Time Activities (Music, Dance, Sport)

• Family

• Sexuality

• Criminality…

But the youth centre is also an area where the kids and teens can be among themselves and can communicate under informal circumstances. We are located in the centre of all types of school and of a part in our town where a lot of youngsters with multicultural background live. We are dealing with minorities and also with the issue concerning equal rights.
