ICPA "UNIHELP"

UNIHELP is an international Charitable Organization that has officially been functioning in Belarus since 2003. Its functioning is based on the work of 5 highly-skilled full-time employees, including one psychologist, and around 50 volunteers. There will be one staff-member responsible for general coordination of the EVS projects (both sending and hosting). Other staff-members will also occasionally work with and be glad to host the volunteer. The supervisor will assist the volunteer from the very beginning of the project till the end. Each volunteer will be provided with a mentor (the mentor functions will be fulfilled by the local volunteers of our organization). While sending we will work in close cooperation with the volunteer and the organization hosting him/her. The mission of UNIHELP is to contribute to comprehensive development and the improvement of the quality of life of children and youth. The organization seeks to achieve its mission by focusing on a number of objectives: developing and implementing projects and activities aimed at providing assistance to children and youth, particularly, to orphaned children, children and youth from dysfunctional families, children with physical disabilities and/or mental disorders; providing Belarusian child institutions with necessary equipment and resources; preventing stigma in the society; working on social inclusion of disadvantaged persons and popularization of corporate social responsibility; fundraising for children who need to undergo expensive surgeries; developing and implementing wide range of long-time projects aimed at achieving the organization mission and objectives. We cooperate with different NGOs, business organizations and educational institutions on local, national and regional level. Within various projects we have collaborated with Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian NGOs and state institutions. One of the priorities of our activities is the development of volunteerism in Belarus. Over 50 youth volunteers are actively involved in our everyday activities. The organization conducts seminars, conferences, and discussions aimed at training and educating young people. Furthermore, our organization focuses on work with youth with fewer opportunities providing them with comprehensive assistance and support, educational opportunities, and opportunities for personal development and growth.
