Foundation ''Zante Family Crisis Center''

Zante Family Crisis Centre (Centre) is established in 2009 in parish of Zante, Region of Kandava in Latvia. Zante Family Crises Centre is foundation working for children and families with children in field of social rehabilitation, social care, children rights protection and education. It’s one of seven institutions in Latvia which provides professional aid for people in crises, promotes children and families welfare, providing different programmes and initiatives. The Centre works based on 4 principles: professionalism, development, tolerance and overtness.
Clients of the Centre are: 1) children and families with children, 2) nearest support systems of children and families, 3) representative institutions of children and families’ interests. The Centre provides: safe environment recovery of social and psychological stability, improvement of life skills, legal protection, promote competence to decide and to live further. The professionals of the Centre use methods of psychology, psychotherapy, social work, social pedagogy and social care.
The Centre regularly organizes educational, social and cultural activities for children with fewer opportunities from Zante and nearest villages.
Zante Family Crisis Centre is not only rehabilitation Centre for children in crises but also support and development centre for local society, especially for children and their families. It does preventive work, provides rehabilitation services and also supports and supervises its clients after rehabilitation programmes. There are many activities Centre does for children and their families.
Centre promotes and develops movement of foster families. Zante Family Crises Centre has
developed foster family movement in Region of Kandava. There are many foster families in Zante ensuring safe and good life conditions for children.
Strength of the Centre is partnership and successful relationship with local community, organizations and institutions. Zante Family Crisis Centre is only Crisis Centre in Latvia which provides not only rehabilitation service for children but also integrate them in local school during their stay in the Centre. Centre has great cooperation with local school and culture centre. With support of other organizations and sponsors Centre organizes regularly such events like Christmas for families, children and elderly of Zante, every year two local summer camps and one international camp (in Gotland, Sweden) for children, more than four times a year Centre organizes for children two days culture programme in Riga and neighborhood.
Centre organizes regularly support groups for young and under-aged mothers. Mothers can come to the Centre and participate in group works while professional staff members look after their children.
