FOCUS-Casa dei Diritti Sociali is an NGO which supports Human and Social Rights of disadvantaged people. Since 1985, we have offered services dedicated to migrant and roma communities living in Rome.
Our membership is composed by numerous volunteers specialised in different fields: technicians, experts, doctors, social workers, lawyers, cultural mediators and teachers. All of us are actively involved in the construction of a fairer world, based on the respect of fundamental Human Rights and on an intercultural citizenship.
Solidarity and intercultural citizeship inspire all our interventions. This is the reason why we promote an active contribution of the civil society, especially young people.
In years, we have realized lots of projects: from L2 language courses for immigrants to social help desk offering orientation services; from didactic help for children at risk of early school leaving to the support to the social integration of roma communities living in Rome.
Many more activieties had been developed in 30 years, all of them aiming to contribute to the construction of a better society. In this years we have taken part to project at national and also international level. But now, we'd like to give a stronger and structured contribution at European level.
We do believe multilingualism is a huge resource for our Europe! That's why we promote non-formal education for young people willing to learn new languages!
