The First National Dyslexia Center is a Bulgarian Association, carrying out its activities in the towns of Ruse and Varna. Its main scope of activities focuses on special pedagogy, and, in particular, specific learning difficulties. In this context, various events and participations in international forums and projects take place. A team of specialists (special pedagogue/dyslexia trainer/ speech therapist and psychologist) works with children, youths and adults. The team also provides consultancy to parents, teachers and stakeholders with interest in dyslexia, dyscalculia, learning difficulties and autism.
The team of the center has been a partner to projects under programs such as Grundvig, Leonardo da Vinci, and local projects, as well as partnered in projects AdysTrain /LLP, Grundvig/, EdysGate/LLP, Leonardo/, Discovering 3/LLP, Comenius/, Tips –LLP,Grundvig/. The center is a partner in the YASPELD / LLP, Grundvig/ Job Coaching projects for people with learning diabilities, /LLP, Leoanrdo, Partnerships/. Team members wrote two e-books and a guide to parents of dyslexic children, a children’s’ book for parents to dyslexic children. The team partners with sister-organizations from Germany and Austria to supplement its theoretical and practical background.
