ULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) – Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. was founded in 2005 – based on several years of activities as informal students group “East Europe Club – OCJ” of the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena, Germany – and is working as non-profit organisation in the domain of intercultural youth work in the area of Thuringia, as well as in Germany and Europe. Purpose of our activity is to point out options and possibilities in Europe to young people and to encourage their intercultural skills at the same time. The Main focus of our work is in the fields of art & culture as soon as political education. Projects and programmes are realised with local, national and international partners. Our special focus applies to the cooperation with countries of Eastern and Southeast Europe.

Our objectives are:

To provide high quality non-formal programmes to young people in Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany and Europe;
To train young people’s commitment to peace, democracy and solidarity;
To support the integration of young people into the society and to activate their civil engagement;
To raise young people’s contribution to solve communal, educational, environmental and social problems;
To improve the comprehension of cultural diversity and to promote the fight against racism, discrimination, xenophobia and nationalism
