The Music Conservatory Adolfo Salazar is a public music school that was founded in 1988. Ever since it is known as a reference for training versatile and resourceful musicians with the skills they need in the ever-changing profession.
The Conservatory is a Specialist music school and its purpose is to identify children with exceptional potential and assist them to benefit from world-class specialist training as part of a balanced education. This will enable them, if they choose so, to proceed towards self-sustaining careers in music. The admission is between the ages of 8 and 18 and it´s held through competitive audition.
The premises are situated in the district named Arguelles located in the heart of Madrid.
The Conservatory´s permanent goal was to provide an educational environment that fosters student´s artistic, intellectual and personal growth and prepare their path to successful careers as artists and global citizens. The Center upholds the commitment to the diversity by fostering an environment that is inclusive and supportive.
The Centre has approximately 300 students. Individual instrument lessons and music theory training, prepares our students for an increasingly demanding and diverse professional life and there by encompasses: symphonic orchestra, string orchestra, brass orchestra, more than 20 chamber groups, two children choir etc.
There are over 80 concerts scheduled during one academic year. The Conservatory organizes master classes, seminars and conferences with distinguished visiting professors.
