We are the Carl-Gotthard-Langhans-Schule, a vocational school in the district of Wolfenbüttel, Lower-Saxony. Here about 60 teachers teach about 1,000 students in the professional fields of social work, business and administration, metal technology, vehicle technology, electrical engineering, construction technology, wood technology, personal care, housekeeping, care and nutrition. Nine administrative and service staff as well as a social worker support them in their daily work. In 22 professions young people are trained in the German dual system - learning on the job in addition to going to school once or twice a week. There are 25 full-time school types that prepare students for a professional training. Organizationally, the school is divided into four departments. We offer the opportunity to acquire the university entrance qualification in the technical colleges of business, technology, nutrition/housekeeping or health and social work (focus on social pedagogy). We also teach German as a second language classes or classes for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
We are proud of our cultural diversity with students from about 27 different countries attending our school. Mutual respect, tolerance and intercultural competence are therefore important values to us, which are reflected in our certification as “Schule ohne Rassismus - Schule mit Courage” (school without racism - school with courage). We treasure our long-standing partnerships with vocational schools in Poland, Austria and Italy and are looking to constantly expand our Erasmus+ activities for students and staff.
