“Associazione Don Bosco 2000 - Social Enterprise”, with registered office in Italy, in the Sicily region, at the Municipality of Piazza Armerina, promotes the integral training of man and integration, paying particular attention to those who experience social and economic difficulties. The association was founded as reception center from 2011 and over the years it has grown and consolidated its experience in providing support services to young migrants who have landed in our country.
Don Bosco 2000 manages SIPROIMI and CAS reception centers in three Sicilian cities (Aidone, Piazza Armerina and Pietraperzia) and it is also active in international development cooperation in African countries like Gambia and Senegal where it manages a social incubator in the Tambacounda region. Since 2016, therefore, Don Bosco 2000 has been operating in Senegal and Gambia with international development cooperation projects in order to launch youth micro-entrepreneurship projects as an alternative to forced migration and, at the same time, launches awareness activities on the risks of traveling to Europe.
The key points on which the planning of the Associazione Don Bosco 2000 is based are:
• Attention to young people in the area;
• Support for vulnerable people, especially migrants;
• Attention to the needs of the territory;
• International cooperation and development projects;
• Training of young people at work;
• Advocacy.
