The Cultural Association Khorakhanè was born ten years ago in Abano Terme (Padova, Italy).
It was founded by a group of young people tied by a strong bond of friendship and desire to give life to events, cultural activities and social aggregation. From the beginning, the idea is to stimulate initiatives and opportunities, so that young people experience their talents, skills and abilities, working and learning together along the way. Currently it counts around 50 people aged between 20 and 30 years. The positive social and cultural impact on the Veneto region has been consistently growing with the realization of events, projects and partnerships with many non-profit organizations at a local, regional and national level.
In 2014 the Cultural Laboratory I'M opened within the Association. It was created to offer cultural and artistic services involving different actors of the community (youth, disadvantaged individuals, public agencies, private profit and non-profit organizations, families, etc.) combining the needs of the market with the principles of fairness, environmental sustainability and equal opportunities. The Laboratory aims to be an open space for the community, to promote collaboration, peer learning and good practices in order to build a sustainable and supportive future. It is composed of around 10 working groups, each one taking care of one particular activity, topic, aspect of the Lab (cultural and artistic planning, swap market, children activities, interior design, communication, urban farming, administration, awareness campaign/social projects, catering).
"In Other Ways" addresses global interdependences, the environmental and social impact of our lifestyles and motivates us to take action and make a change.
